The sound of pages being flipped idly, and the patter of feet moving as someone lay sprawled out, echoed through the room.

This is inside the academy—probably some kind of lounge, I think.

Since they’re leaving me here alone, I doubt it’s a guest room… but the furnishings are all elaborate, so I can’t be completely sure.

More importantly, why was I brought here in the first place?

In the end, nobody’s told me.

I don’t know what kind of curriculum it is, but Seriana went off to class.

She told me she’d be back at lunchtime and that I should wait here, but according to my stomach-clock, it’s about time for lunch already…?

I even made it into my second book, which I’d brought along to kill time.

They were big and heavy, but bringing multiple books just in case was the right call.

There was a knock, but they opened the door without waiting for an answer.

Is it Seriana and the others?

I pushed myself up from the sofa and looked toward the door. Three people I didn’t recognize.

One was a middle-aged man with a butler-like vibe.

Another was a woman in a maid outfit.

And the last was a good-looking blond guy.

“Oh? Seria still isn’t here?”

“Seems so. They were using the auditorium, so it may take a bit longer.”

“What should we do? Shall we head to the dining hall first?”

The three of them started talking as if I wasn’t even here… but who are they?

“Hi. We’ll wait here too.”

They seem to be waiting for Seriana too.

Maybe he noticed my movement, because the older man shifted to stand close beside the blond guy.

So his name is Carlos.

He said it with a friendly, likable face.

That aside… who is this guy, exactly?

Seriana and Elena finally arrived in the room, where laughter had been echoing.

The book I’d been reading was a history text meant for nobles.

“No, I didn’t tell her even your name. Was it how you addressed me?”

Calling a noblewoman by a nickname is something only family or extremely close people do.

The Müller House deliberately uses proper given names even within the family, but among the men at the academy, if you asked who would call her by a nickname, I’d figured it would be him—and I was right.

It clicked while we were talking, and I was thinking, What do I do now…? but I didn’t know what I was supposed to do about it.

“Liesel Mesaria. The Fourth Prince of this country.”

He sat down beside me.

Should I move away?

“He’s also her fiancé. You stay right there.”

When I tried to stand, he stopped me.

Is that really okay? The other three are still standing, though…

“It’s fine. Liesel called you because he has business with you.”

…This guy doesn’t look like he has much use for it, so is it for someone else?
