Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! - Chapter 206

The low sound of a flute echoed in the air, signaling the departure of the carriage Lisel was riding in.

Soon, our carriage followed suit.

In addition to these two carriages, there was a third one loaded with luggage, including the head of a bear.

Looking out the window, I saw a line of servants bowing their heads in farewell.

A bit further away stood Jighart and Fiora. They were staying behind.

Having them come along would be reassuring, but they needed to stay behind to handle any emergencies that might arise.

The "Dragon’s Lung" was left with them, so no matter what happened, we should be fine.

"......"

"What is it?"

Seriana noticed my stare and looked over.

"So, which route are we taking in the end?"

I still didn't know whether we would go around the mountain or cut through it.

"It's still a secret. I don't think you'll blab, but others might. Only I, Lisel, Elena, Alex, and August know the route. In the capital, only my father, mother, and the head knight know."

"Well, it’s easier to just say I don’t know when asked..."

Even I have to be mindful of how I deal with seniors and nobles. Not having to worry about what to say is a relief.

But still, I want to be prepared in case something happens...

"You won't be bored, so look forward to it."

"...?"

What does that mean?

A week after leaving Lottel, we finally arrived in the capital.

If we hurried, we could have made it in about two days, but we took precautions to avoid any mishaps.

We left in the morning and arrived at our lodging before dusk.

It was a leisurely trip.

"Nothing’s changed."

"They won't make any major changes that are noticeable at a glance. Maybe in a few decades, things will be rebuilt, though."

Entering the city from the east gate felt refreshing since it’s not something we often did, but... nothing has really changed!

At that moment, there was a knock on the window. It was Alex.

"What’s up?"

"It seems the residents have lined up along the main street to catch a glimpse of the lady. Please respond."

"Oh, she’s quite popular..."

"Of course. Sera, switch places."

Seriana, who was sitting in the middle, switched seats with me, moving to the window side.

So, the residents know about the marriage too. Seriana is quite popular since she often went out into the city as part of the ruling family. I don’t know much about the other two, but it must be quite the pressure...

When we arrived at the mansion, Seriana and the others headed to her father's room.

We would stay here only for today and leave tomorrow. The schedule was packed.

I, on the other hand, was working in Seriana's room.

"Elena and Alexio are staying at their family homes, right?"

"Yeah. They said they wanted to talk with their parents."

They’ve achieved quite a bit in Lottel, and though the date for the ceremony isn’t set yet, they’ll be officially engaged today. I don’t know what the ex-fiancĂ© is up to, but since Seriana, Lisel, and her father arranged this, nothing can be done about it.

"Do you have any such plans, Sera?"

As I nodded along with the maids, the focus turned to me.

"Nothing at all. The old men fancy me though... Alright, that’s done. Next, please."

I don’t care about being popular or wanting to be. I don't have any interactions with people my age either...

Well, putting that aside, back to work.

"Next is this..."

We were casually chatting while making an inventory of gifts for Seriana.

The room was filled with boxes. We were checking through them.

Most of them would be sent to Lottel tomorrow, but a lot would be left here and distributed among the servants. However, some need to be kept for reciprocation. It’s all rather tedious.

"Are you going to attend the lady's wedding, Sera? It’s famous even in the capital, right?"

"No, I’ll be on standby in the waiting room. Lots of foreign nobles are coming, I hear."

As expected, when there are many women, the chatter never ends. The conversation jumps from one topic to another. It’s less boring than working in silence, I suppose.
