Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! - Chapter 215
A loud knocking sound echoed from the door.
This strength must be Alek.
"Seria, are you awake?"
I was right.
"Yeah, I'm up. You can come in."
Although my response was broken up due to stretching, he seemed to hear it clearly as he opened the door and entered.
He was dressed casually in what seemed like hemp clothes.
I guess he doesn't plan on going out anymore today.
"Sorry to bother you. I need to talk about tomorrow. You don’t have anything planned for the afternoon, right?"
Tomorrow?
"Yeah. I was supposed to get my clothes measured tomorrow, but it got moved to today. So, I’m free tomorrow. Why? What’s up?"
"Well, I've been investigating the royal capital, and tomorrow I plan to look around the northern district where the church and foreign residences are. I was hoping to get your help with that. Can I count on you?"
My help…maybe with Akame or the “Fairy Eye”?
"I don’t mind as long as it’s nothing too difficult. What do you need me to do?"
"I just need you to come with us. Use your Submerging Snake and “Fairy Eye” to gauge the strength of those in the area. A rough estimate will do. Can you handle it?"
"Hmm…like a reconnaissance mission? Sure, I can do that. In the afternoon, right?"
"Yes. I'll come get you after lunch. There shouldn't be any fighting, so you can dress casually."
"Got it."
◇
The northern district… The only memory I have of it is going to a party with Seriana and getting kidnapped there.
I haven't set foot there since then...
The Müller family mansion is in the southern district of the royal capital, so it’s on the opposite side.
It’s a high-end area with the church, mansions of nobles from the western countries, and heads of trade guilds.
Because of that, there aren't many people around, just patrolling soldiers and private guards standing at the mansion gates.
There are areas with lax security and areas with strict security, but I can’t just obviously look around everywhere, so this is perfect for me.
"What do you see?"
We had just reached our initial target, the church in the northern district, when Alek asked me for a report.
Besides Alek, there were members of the clan and warrior groups who came to L'tor to gather information and supplies in the royal capital.
Two men and one woman.
Although their magical power wasn’t that strong, they were all quite capable.
Alek led the way while I floated in the center, and the three of them formed a perimeter around us.
"I saw some pretty strong ones. Here."
I handed over a simple map of the northern district, marking the spots where I noticed significant presence from the central plaza to the church.
Alek took it, and the other three peeked over his shoulder.
With not just Akame but also Shirojita joining in, it was like switching from mono to stereo; things that were blurry from a distance became clearer.
The problem is that my processing ability can’t keep up...
Will I get used to it eventually?
"Seria, wasn't there anyone here?"
"Hmm?"
Alek pointed to a spot on the map where I had marked a mansion with high walls and a lot of guards.
It stood out, so I had checked it carefully, but didn’t notice anything else.
"Yeah, I saw guards patrolling the garden, but no one particularly strong."
"I see... What do you think?"
The three others shared their thoughts and discussed it among themselves. Is there something there?
"Is there something important about that place?"
"Hmm? Well, you know about the Martial Arts Tournament, right?"
I nodded.
"The mansion you marked belongs to a large trading company from the west that participates in the tournament every time. I thought the participants had already arrived, but…are they not there yet?"
He looked puzzled.
"There are still almost two months until the tournament. Is it possible they haven't arrived yet?"
"Maybe. But there's also the lucrative dungeons, and it doesn’t make sense for them to arrive late."
"They haven't gone out, right?"
"Yeah. According to the morning patrol report, no one has left the mansion."
After discussing various possibilities and thinking deeply, the four of them fell silent again.
At first glance, they seemed serious, and it probably was work, but…aren’t they enjoying playing detective a bit too much?
