Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! - Chapter 191

The training ground between the town and the forest.

In the sky above, there are occasional lights drifting around, created by Jiguhalt's magic.

Looking at the illuminated ground, battles against wolves and goblins are unfolding everywhere.

So far, we have the upper hand. Everyone is doing their best.

“Hmm!”

I turn at the sound of a whistle and see a man serving as a shield bearer collapsing. This is bad. I must hurry!

“Hold on!”

With a lantern hanging from my waist and a red cape fluttering, I land. My appearance is unmistakable.

“Sorry! You saved me!”

As I rush over, sending a floating orb ahead, I see the man's comrades already tending to him. Blood is pouring from his thigh.

“Here.”

I take out a superior potion from my pouch and hand it to them. They immediately start applying it.

“A wolf?”

“Yes. It came out of the side pack and got him.”

Wolves usually form packs of five to ten, but this one broke away...

“Understood. I'll pass the word. Don’t push yourselves too hard, we still have the upper hand.”

Their actions are different from before; maybe they switched from the vanguard to the main force. I need to report this before there are more casualties.

This battle, simply named "The Battle of Lutol Defense," has a straightforward strategy to match.

There are 120 adventurers and town soldiers forming a mixed unit, supported by 20 additional members.

They are split into two groups by role: one as shield bearers, boasting strength and stamina to meet the monsters head-on, and the other as attackers, positioned on the flanks to deliver the final blow. They rotate in pairs, and while there have been injuries, there are no deaths or retirements so far. The elite adventurers of this town, if not caught off guard, won't be easily broken.

The plan is to lure and crush. This simple strategy suits our hastily formed unit well.

Additionally, we have five mounted knights who handle chasing down and splitting up monster packs. Their numbers are few, but as leaders and potential captains of new territories, they are skilled, sharp, and versatile.

Separately, there are scouts in the forest gathering information on the monster packs and bosses. They can predict some movements already but aim to confirm details.

I serve as a messenger and emergency potion distributor for the main force where Rizel is stationed.

Celiana, for safety, is back at the mansion with Elena and Fiora, but he made it here. The main force is set up just before the training ground, organizing information and distributing supplies from the town.

“Whoa!”

On the way to the main force, a sudden light flashes ahead, firing a beam. It’s Jiguhalt.

He’s adjusted the barrier Fiora used in the royal capital’s training ground to create something more like a turret rather than just a platform, shooting at monsters trying to leave the battle area.

He seems to be careful not to cause collateral damage, but his deadly accuracy shows why the knights rely on him.

“I’m back!”

Taking a slightly longer route to avoid friendly fire, I reach the main force.

Down here, the sounds of battle are faint, replaced by the voices of the older men. I’m not the only messenger, and they use the reports they receive to decide where to send the troops.

“Oh, Sera.”

One of the older men notices me and turns. My voice stands out among them, and at first, I had startled them by appearing from the side or back, but they’ve gotten used to it.

The alchemist on duty immediately takes my pouch to restock potions. The potion bottles are cleaned and reused, even in this emergency. They can't be mass-produced, so they recycle everything possible.

Well... you only sprinkle the contents anyway, right?

“Thank you. Any abnormalities?”

“The monsters' tactics are changing. They’re breaking from their packs and joining fights with other packs. Several people were seriously injured because of this.”

It’s likely the main force is now engaged, but that’s not for me to decide; I just report.

“I see... understood. Take a break until we need you again.”

“Okay.”

Still looks busy around here!
