Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! - Chapter 286
Two days after the luncheon, sixth day of stay.
Like yesterday, today Eizen and his attendant are attending the Merchant Guild meeting with Teresa.
It seems they aren't given any specific tasks, but they have been taking minutes and handling minor matters. Although it's not that they lack the ability, such administrative tasks don't seem to suit them, so they had been avoiding them until now.
Last night, they received words of gratitude from the old man and were asked to continue their work from tomorrow.
If Zelkis was still in the frontier's front lines as before, it might have been acceptable for him to have a macho mindset like the old man, but now that he'll be required to provide support for us, we hope he will continue to grow in this manner.
Well… leaving Eizen's future aside… today, I’m once again heading to the dungeon's mid-level…
"Ugh… there are so many people…”
It seems the adventurers have returned from their break, as the place is bustling with activity, something I hadn't seen in the past few days. To avoid startling anyone, I’m progressing at a slow pace.
I’m almost at the mid-level, but from the shallow depths to here, there have been people in every hunting ground.
I had planned to hunt in the usual hall near the mid-level entrance… but will it be tough?
“Miss Seria!”
While I was drifting, pondering what to do, I heard a man calling me from below.
“Hmm…?”
Looking in that direction, I see a veteran adventurer who has a considerable history, and while we haven’t directly interacted, he is an acquaintance of Alec and Zelkis. He is waving at me from afar. There are a few young adventurers, around 20 years old, accompanying him… perhaps they are the ones he’s guiding?
◇
“Ha!”
An arrow released from [Danrem's Thread] pierced through the boss of the group and its minions, gouging the ground as it went. Although I only defeated three of them, I managed to effectively divide the group.
“Alright! Start chipping away from the edge with fewer enemies! Don’t engage with the remaining ones recklessly and get caught!”
Instructions were given immediately, and the adventurers followed, attacking the remaining ogres.
Although the young adventurers are still lacking in experience to fight ogre groups, our numbers are 13 against their 11, so we are not outnumbered, and the ogres have lost their coordination, turning into just a mob. It’s a fair fight now.
The 13 adventurers are divided into three parties: one with four members and two with three each. The four-person party is attacking from the edges as instructed, while the remaining two parties have moved in to prevent the group from merging and are holding their ground.
“Do you think we can manage this time?”
“We failed to divide them properly before and they merged while we were hesitating… but it seems like this time it’s going well, doesn’t it?”
“… Oh! We’ve taken down one already. The pace is good, isn’t it?”
The two older adventurers who gave the instructions, along with the other two older adventurers, are holding their weapons, ready to support at any moment, while discussing the battle in a relaxed manner.
“You’re doing quite well. You’ve improved a lot compared to the beginning, haven’t you?”
I join in, making a grand statement.
When I first fought, I was thrown off by receiving attacks with my shield and couldn’t withstand regular attacks, resulting in counterattacks. However, after a few battles, I seem to have gradually grasped the technique and am fighting quite well now.
“Well… if only we could take down the boss. The princess is handling it now, but normally, that’s the most challenging part.”
The older adventurers laugh as they say this.
“We used to take nearly an hour to break through a single room while taking down the guards and drawing enemies out from the edges… if you can break through here in less than 30 minutes with a small group, you’d be considered top-notch.”
“I see…”
I reply with a nod.
It seems that the 'guardians' are the stone-throwing groups. From what I’ve heard, this method is quite different from my approach of completely separating the stone-throwing groups from the main force. It seems that dealing with the stone-throwers while gradually chipping away at the main force is the general method. The fact that the practice of setting up formations was unknown might be because I was fighting both simultaneously before completing them.
I’ve been gathering information about the monsters themselves, but not paying much attention to the details from the extermination side. Considering that the information must change depending on the observer, I should start paying more attention to that aspect as well.
