 "Hey, I get that we need materials from the Demon Lord's spawn, and I understand that you want to gather them yourselves... but how exactly are you planning to defeat it? From what I've been hearing, it sounds like I'm going to be involved as well..."

"I only learned about this blessing today, but you were already included in the plan from the start."

Zighart is laughing at me as I stare at him in shock at this surprising revelation.

Sure, I thought it'd be cool to just watch, but now that I'm participating...

"Don't worry. The role we're expecting from you is to provide support from above and relay messages to the other units," Fiora said, trying to reassure me.

"Killing it with just me and Fiora would be enough, but since we're dealing with a Demon Lord's spawn from the demonic realm... it's likely tougher than the ones elsewhere. It might even escape before we can finish it off. To prevent that, we're borrowing the knights' strength. The units are going to be spread out, and we also have to deal with the surrounding monsters. So I wanted you to handle the coordination between the units."

"... I see."

I get it now... We're probably going to be fighting in the mountains or the forest. I don't know the exact location, but I'll be faster and more reliable than a horse when it comes to flying between units.

"I understand that part... but can the two of you really take it down on your own?"

They're saying this so casually, but the fact that they're more worried about the thing escaping rather than them getting killed... that's pretty impressive.

"Well, yes... but that's assuming it's an outdoor fight, and we're able to maintain our condition within the manageable range. Even so, it's stronger than any other Demon Lord's spawn elsewhere... If we can use this place, though, we might aim for something even stronger."

Zighart grinned while rubbing his chin. That look on his face definitely isn't about aiming for something just a little stronger—he's planning something more adventurous.

"You can use any of the personnel here as you like. I'll leave that decision up to you. But, Sera, you're practically confirmed to participate, so be ready."

"... Yes."

While I was still pondering, Zighart took Alec and went off to check another room, Fiora headed for the bookshelf, Teresa went to the kitchen with Elena, and Seriana sat down to drink tea—everyone was doing their own thing.

Well, this is necessary for the territory, and I have no intention of going anywhere else. My role is just to relay messages. I probably won't face any real danger.

One day, near the end of the rainy season.

As I was strolling from the South Wing toward the main building where Liesel's office is located, I ran into Zighart and Fiora coming up the stairs.

It’s not unusual to see them in the lounge or dining room around this time, but meeting them here is rare.

"Teresa is attending an Adventurer's Guild meeting today, so I'm letting her practice with the 【Floating Sphere】. And I've already had breakfast."

Well, whatever the reason, I might as well take advantage of this and let him carry me! I’ll probably lend Teresa the 【Floating Sphere】 for practice again, so having someone carry me around isn’t a bad idea!
