 Hiding in the 【Hideout】 within the forest near the capital of the Zelkis territory for a while.

I had planned to head into the city once the sun rose, but...

"Hmm... no signs of monsters... no signs of people either... Yeah, it looks safe for now."

I had spent a long time watching the surroundings through the monitor, and finally, the right time to go outside had come.

This forest is located a bit away from the main road, so I didn’t think anyone would come here. True, no merchants or farmers came by, but adventurers and soldiers were constantly coming and going.

I wondered why that was, but apparently, this forest contains one of the water sources used by the capital, and they were here to inspect it after the rainy season ended.

It just so happened that I overheard some adventurers talking about it within earshot, and that’s how I found out.

Teresa doesn’t know much about this city, so I should have been the one to keep track of things like this... lesson learned.

Still... how should I put this... It makes sense for soldiers, but the adventurers are surprisingly diligent in their work. I still have the impression of those thuggish adventurers from back when I was in the orphanage, and that bias seems to be clouding my judgment of their work ethic.

I turned off the lights in the room, and we set off.

Once we were outside, everything proceeded smoothly. The soldiers at the checkpoint knew who I was, and Teresa was a genuine noble, so it was practically a free pass. Normally, we should have sent word ahead of our arrival, but Seriana had already notified them of our visit after the rainy season, so they were prepared to receive us.

Upon arriving at the mansion, we were quickly escorted to my father’s study, where discussions were taking place.

"So, you’ll be staying for a week, correct?"

"Yes. During that time, Lady Sera will be exploring the dungeon and performing the 【Blessing of Mira】. I’ll be handling negotiations between territories and inspecting the various guilds. Of course, this will not be a one-time event; we plan to continue these activities in the future as well."

And so on... Both parties were already aware of these things, so this was just confirmation. Unlike our previous secret visit, this time’s official stay involved all sorts of procedures and protocols, which made things rather tedious. Considering how much they had already simplified things, I can’t imagine how much more of a hassle it would be to visit another territory...

While I was absentmindedly thinking about that, the meeting seemed to have ended, and we were being shown to our rooms.

"The luggage for the two of you has already been delivered to your rooms... was that all you needed?"

A servant asked with a slightly concerned tone as we walked. Well, we did arrive with only one bag...

"It’s not a problem. We had the rest of our belongings delivered from our territory to the commercial guild here ahead of time, so they should be bringing them over once they hear of our arrival."

"Ah, I see..."

Well, Teresa is quite the VIP, so they probably wanted to avoid any situation that might upset her. They seemed relieved to hear that everything was in order.

Of course, the luggage being delivered is just a decoy; the items we actually need are safely stored in the 【Hideout】. Since we know exactly who is handling things, there’s little chance of theft or tampering, but since we have a secure place to store our valuables, it’s better to use those items.

Seriana had happily arranged all the little details for us.

For the merchants, this is a great opportunity to get close to Seriana and Teresa, so I’m sure it’s a sweet deal for them. But in reality, the ones who transported the goods were their subordinates. Riana, being on the outskirts of this country, rarely gets to transport noble’s belongings, so it must have been a high-pressure job for them...

I should probably tell Seriana to give Riana a tip when we return...
