Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! - Chapter 110
"Thank you."
"Not at all."
He thanked the coachman who helped him down from the carriage.
Though there was a step attached, the carriage was still too high for him.
He wished there was another step, but usually, when riding a carriage, he always had his "floating orbs" out...
"Sorry to keep you waiting."
Putting that aside for now, since the gate was left wide open, the people in the mansion, sensing Serianna's return, were coming out to the front entrance.
Let's get inside quickly.
"Yes, let's go."
Passing through the gate under the watchful eyes of the guards, they entered the mansion from the front entrance.
Normally, she would come and go through the back door or windows, so the first few days were uneasy, but she had indeed gotten used to it.
"Welcome back, Miss Serianna."
"Yes. Any reports?"
"Yes. Two invitations for tea parties and a package from the Monado Trading Company have arrived. They're being taken to your room."
"I see. I'll have lunch first, so please have them brought to my room as usual."
"Yes. Understood."
After giving her instructions, Serianna headed to her room.
We followed after her.
Just when the greeting rush finally seemed to be over, now invitations are coming in like a mountain.
Since the academy goes until noon, there are a lot of lunch invitations expected, and even though the old folks mostly decline, they're still quite popular.
"Well then, I'll stay here."
"Yes. Thank you for your hard work."
Eira-san stayed by the room's entrance, and we entered Serianna's room.
"Feel free."
Entering the room, we went further into the bedroom through another door and activated the "hideout," entering with Serianna.
"I'll use it, thank you."
She said, heading to the washroom to wash her hands.
Then, she switched with Elena, and finally, I washed my hands and tidied up lightly before riding the "floating orb" we had left in the "hideout" back to the room.
Eira-san is standing outside the room, so we can't stay too long, but this much is manageable.
The "hideout" is more comfortable, but Serianna's security assumes that both Elena and I are inside the room, so it's a bit cramped, but we'll manage.
As we left the bedroom, lunch was just being brought in.
Barely made it in time.
They work fast.
The people in this mansion do!
◇
Lunch was quickly finished.
Perhaps because nobles in this country tend to snack a lot, except when entertaining guests, lunch is usually light. Today, it was sandwiches.
Though in this world, there doesn't seem to be any count to warrant the title, so they're just called bread. Seems to be popular regardless of status because they're easy to eat.
Though, using a knife and fork sets them apart from commoners...
"Sera, come over here."
"What is it?"
As the maids who had been in the room during the meal went to tidy up, leaving the room with just the three of them, Serianna was called over.
She was taking something out of a box on the desk that looked like a piece of red cloth.
"It arrived today. It's a bit early, but is that okay?"
"Huh?"
"It's your birthday present."
"What?!"
Not understanding what she meant by "is that okay," Serianna tilted her head, but then she realized—her birthday is coming up soon!
Looking at the long piece of red cloth, it resembles a flag at first glance, but surely it couldn't be that.
"Ohhh..."
Upon spreading it out, a large crest was prominently embroidered in the center of the back.
In the middle, there was a shield, with a large tree inside, and below it, a crossed axe and sword.
Furthermore, on one side, there was a horse symbolizing possession by the knightly order, while on the opposite side, there was a demon symbolizing possession of the dungeon.
It was the Müller family crest.
"It's a cape made from the same material as our knights' mantles. I was torn between making it a coat, but considering how you fight, this seemed better."
Trying it on, it reached down to about the stomach, with no buttons but designed to be tied around the chest.
Testing by rotating the arms, it didn't feel obstructive.
While it wasn't particularly thick or heavy, it seemed to have good insulation... and it seemed quite expensive.
"For now, it bears the Müller family crest, but by the time you grow up, I'll have another crest made for you."
Quite a forward-thinking promise...
"Thank you!"
Well, I'll have to serve properly for this!
