Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! - Chapter 125

"Sera, I'm sorry for dragging you along today," Minnea apologized as we sat across from each other in the carriage ride home.

She was smiling, though it was more of a wry smile, so I doubted she was truly serious.

Today's host was someone the same age as Minnea, apparently a friend from her academy days. Her friend's son, who is the same age as Seriana, has recently gotten engaged and is attending the academy this year. While the two of them chatted away about this and that, I performed the "Blessing of Mira."

We had nearly a whole day to spare, so I took breaks for a nap and snacks, completing the two sections of both arms and head in a total of two hours. Although she hadn't gained or lost weight, her overall impression would significantly improve. It seems she will soon be meeting her fiancé's family, so this should be sufficient.

"No, no. I enjoyed hearing about the academy," I replied.

Even though the noble academy claims to have a graduation, there is no actual ceremony. There are no events like receiving a diploma or tossing hats. While commoner schools have graduation ceremonies and awards for top students, the noble academy does not engage in such activities. Consequently, there are no sudden romances sparked at graduation parties.

Well, there are foreigners, but since everyone attending is a noble, they wouldn't typically engage in such reckless behavior. However, it is fairly common for students to deepen their relationships during their academy years and eventually get engaged. Requests for the "Blessing of Mira" had been increasing around the time of graduation, likely to prepare for the families' introductions in the capital.

When you think about it, the noble academy seems to lack exciting events. The food was... delicious, I suppose? That's about it.

"Oh? If you're interested, you could attend the academy as an attendant, Sera," Minnea suggested.

"Huh?"

What does she mean by that?

"So, that's what happened," I recounted during the evening briefing.

I generally don't keep secrets. If something happens, I say it. If I don't know something, I ask. If I don't understand something, I ask again.

Reporting and communication are important.

"Mother?"

Seriana pondered, but didn't seem particularly serious.

"I see... I understand."

"What do you mean?"

Was it some kind of recruitment?

"The only people who know you escaped from the orphanage in Lutol are us, Father who handled the matter, and the Knight Captain. Besides Mother, everyone else believes you're an orphan from the territorial capital."

"Right."

Fewer people knew than I expected...

"Even though you're my personal attendant, as a noble lady, Mother probably doesn't want to send children she can keep an eye on into dangerous situations. It's not so much recruitment as it is waiting for you to grow a bit more."

"Is it dangerous?"

I'd say the capital is more dangerous for me.

"Frontier work is dangerous. And they don't know how capable you are in combat."

I see... Grandfather knows a bit, but Father and the others have been away, so it wasn't something to inform them about.

"Besides, with the 'Blessing of Mira' and proper etiquette training at the academy, you could do business with nobles. You'd have options other than being an adventurer. Would you like that?"

"No, I wouldn't."

That's obvious. I wouldn't trade my comfortable life of spending an hour in the dungeon, occasionally helping around the mansion, and lazing around the rest of the time.

"I know you dislike complicated etiquette. And I know you don't mind exploring dungeons."

So, it was more about a reassignment or career advancement.

"Right now, I can express my opinion as the eldest daughter of the count’s family and as the countess, but once I return to the territory, my position will change, and it will become more difficult. That's probably why she chose this timing. I'll let her know there's no need for concern."

"Without causing any trouble, right?"

"Of course, there won't be any problems."

She smiled faintly.
