Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! - Chapter 111

 "Huh!"

Taking a deep breath, I weave through the swarm of bats lurking in the ceiling.

Of course, I've activated the "Shadow Sword."

Total annihilation.

"Mmm... Good, good. Not a speck of dirt."

Descending close to the ground, I take off my cape to check for stains, but there's no splatter of blood. Swinging my arms, they don't hinder me at all. Despite engaging in battle with two groups, this method of defeating the bats seems to be the right choice. With this, I've pretty much covered the shallow-water monsters.

As a birthday present from Seriana, received a bit early, I got a red cape with the large crest of the Müller family on the back.

I was told I'd be fine wearing it, so I decided to head to the dungeon instead of accompanying Seriana... It seemed to work as insect repellent, or rather, adventurer repellent... The effect was significant.

Originally, it's not like I had the courage to approach Aleck, so the reason he came to me is beyond me. It's not like my authority has increased or anything, but still, compared to having a small crest on my chest, having a bright red cape with the emblem boldly displayed on my back must make an impact. Thanks to that, I can return to my carefree life as usual.

"Noble Academy, huh... Having to be so well-behaved really makes my shoulders stiff. And since it's within the castle grounds, I can't even use the 'Floating Orbs,' and walking around feels like a burden.

Guess my rough-and-tumble lifestyle suits me better after all."

"Oh, done already?"

Akame, who I left in charge of disposing of the monster cores, slips out from the sleeves. All the corpses have vanished.

"Alright! Next up, wild boars, I suppose."

"Phew..."

I've finished subjugating the group of four wild boars. Of course, no dirt or wounds.

"Oh... more of them?"

As I start to dispose of the corpses, I notice another group of wild boars coming towards us from a distance. The pace seems a bit faster, but this time of day the dungeon is usually less crowded, so I guess these things happen.

I shift my focus from the corpses to the approaching group of wild boars.

Activating "Fairy Eyes," I scan them, but none seem particularly special; they're all about the same strength.

There are six of them, a bit more than before, but I can handle this.

I could lay an ambush, but there are still corpses from earlier lying around, so I'll take the offensive.

Leaving the corpses behind... it'll be over soon, so it should be fine.

I'm not sure if it's the same on other floors, but on this one, while I can tell where humans are, I can't determine their height. It's easy to approach from above and catch them off guard.

Let's do this.

I decide on a plan, raising the altitude of the "Floating Orbs" close to the ceiling and hiding in the shadows of the terrain.

I scan the surroundings again, making sure there are no other monsters around.

No monsters, and no adventurers either. I can go all out now.

As I'm pondering this, the lead boar comes into view. The second and third follow shortly after, but the whole group is spread out.

It seems better to aim from the rear rather than the front in this situation.

"Huh!"

First, the lead boar.

As the other boars pass below, I aim for the last one and dive down rapidly.

Then, I sever its neck.

The second and third boars, noticing this, stop in their tracks and try to turn around. I slip through them, rotating like a propeller, and slice their necks as well.

The fourth boar, positioned a bit further away on the outer edge, I ignore!

"Huh! Take that!"

The fifth boar is fully turned toward me, so I activate "Scarlet Bee Sting," kick its head to throw off its balance, then sever its neck. As it turns back, the sixth boar, which had also stopped its advance, I swiftly approach, piercing its core.

Ideally, I'd have liked to sever this one's neck as well, but there's one more behind, so there's no choice.

Now, for the last one, the sitting duck... Huh?

"Hey? Where'd it go?"

After defeating the boar that led the pack, I rose up to prepare for the last one on the outer edge, but it's gone.

It couldn't have gotten far in just a dozen seconds... Where is it?

As I scan the surroundings, I notice something.

"Akame? When did you come out...?"

Akame, stretching its body out from under my skirt. It turns towards my call, its eyes faintly glowing.

It's the same light I saw when it gnawed on the monster cores.
