Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! - Chapter 153

The sound of the orc pounding against Alec's shield echoed through the dungeon.

Usually, they would either ignore it or take it down quickly, but seeing it now, I realized that orcs were pretty strong.

They had power—brute strength.

If something like that caught you off guard, swinging its arms wildly, you’d be dead.

However, that power means nothing if it doesn't hit.

This time, our party consisted of four members. Alec took on two of them, Elena kept one at bay, and somehow, Seriana, who was running ahead, rammed into the last one, killing it instantly.

After taking down the first one, Seriana fell back to the rear. Then she moved again, took a light run-up, and leaped to pierce the core of the orc that Elena was dealing with.

Since the core was located high in the head, it was usually best to disable its legs first, but Seriana didn't bother with that.

"We're breaking through! Finish it!"

Realizing Seriana had taken down the second one, Alec moved to finish the fight. He countered the orc's attack by bashing his shield against it, throwing it off balance. He then positioned himself between the two remaining orcs, separating them.

"Hah!"

Taking advantage of the opening, Seriana swiftly finished off one and then the other with ease.

This was our fifth party, and we had overwhelmed all of them using the same tactics. However, continuous movement and fighting had taken its toll, and we were all out of breath, our feet rooted to the spot.

"Shall we take a break?"

"Yes... please keep an eye out."

A voice from above called down, and that was the response.

"Got it."

The three of us moved to the wall, forming a semicircle and keeping watch. So far, nothing was around. There were other parties hunting nearby, so this area seemed safe for now.

Still, comparing our hunting with theirs, there was a noticeable difference.

It might simply be that our three members were exceptionally strong, but there was more to it... Perhaps having a reliable tank made all the difference. Even when facing multiple enemies, we maintained perfect control over the situation.

...Unfortunately, I couldn’t take much from this as a reference. Our body types were too different. Trying to imitate them would get me killed.

If I were to mimic someone, it would be Seriana. Isn't this lady a bit too strong?

Often, when passing through dungeons, I travel close to the ceiling, so I get to observe other adventurers' battles frequently. Adventurers aiming for the deeper floors might fight differently, but those focusing on this level relied heavily on brute force. Their wild and rough style had its own charm.

In contrast, Seriana’s fighting style was refined, eliminating any unnecessary movements.

I thought I was pretty skilled, but watching her made me realize how clumsy I was. Fighting alone and having different arm and weapon lengths might account for some of it, but still, I learned a lot.

Though I haven’t done much.

My role is to keep watch, but Seriana's detection range is far wider than mine. Once, a monster appeared behind us, but she noticed it before I did. The only thing I might have contributed was being friendly to passing adventurers to avoid unnecessary trouble.

That's an important role, especially when accompanying a nobleman's daughter. We can't afford to create any conflict, not even a spark of it.

Being amiable is important. Yes, very important.

...Maybe I should strike a pose or something?

"Oh?"

While I pondered my posing, the three below had caught their breath. They moved away from the wall and began stretching. Checking the timer, it was almost an hour. We’d been in the dungeon for two hours now, as the timer had already gone off once.

It had been more than enough exercise for what was supposed to be light activity. Is it about time?

"Shall we head back? Sera, come over here."

Alright, let's update the [Prayer] and head for the dungeon exit!
