Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! - Chapter 154

 March in spring.

In this country, there is a period similar to the rainy season in mid-March and late February, lasting about a week to ten days. Normally, it doesn’t rain much, but during this period, it rains continuously. Because of this, repairs to walls and roofs are done all over the city beforehand. This mansion is no exception.

For ordinary buildings, a team from the Craftsmen's Guild is dispatched, and they finish the work in a few days. However, because this mansion is so large, one team isn’t enough. Too few workers would take too long, so it’s customary to send all available craftsmen to the lord’s mansion first to finish quickly.

Last year, I was in the capital during both periods, so this is my first time experiencing it in the provincial capital. When I was at the orphanage, the older kids would repair leaks, but since they didn’t have much skill, the place deteriorated significantly. I used to think about burning it down, but it looks like it will fall apart on its own eventually.

That aside, the host prepares meals for the craftsmen. The meals are served by the servants working at the lord’s mansion, which has earned a good reputation.

However, with a large number of workers, the area of work is also extensive. While it's easy to come down from the walls, it’s not so simple on the roof. Without lighting equipment, time is crucial to finish before sunset.

Thus, meals are often delivered directly to the roof. This task is difficult for women who aren’t accustomed to it, so the men usually handle it.

“Seria, could you take care of this?”

While I was floating outside the window, lost in thought, someone called out from inside. I looked and saw several baskets filled with food ready.

“Sure thing.”

This is where I come in, helping to distribute meals. It’s a job that fits the image of a maid.

I usually help with this sort of thing, but today, Seriana herself gave the order.

“Sorry for the wait.”

“Oh, thank you, young lady.”

As usual, working at heights is my specialty. First, I handed out something like hot dogs, with sautéed vegetables and meat in bread. Even though it’s something you can eat outside, the quality of ingredients and the skill of the cooks made it taste much better.

“There’s also soup, so be careful not to spill it. I’ll watch over it while you pull it up.”

“Got it.”

I lowered a board with ropes tied to both ends down to the corridor window below to lift the supplies.

“Please load it up.”

“Alright. Make sure it doesn’t fall, okay?”

I instructed the waiting servants in the corridor to place the pot on the board. The large pot contained soup for about ten people. Unfortunately, I couldn’t lift it myself, so we had to do it this way. While I couldn’t lift it, I could keep it balanced to prevent it from falling.

The pot was successfully lifted, and the soup was distributed to everyone. After that, we cleared away what we could, and my job for the day was done.

The window was open, but I knocked lightly before entering Seriana’s room.

“I’m back.”

I did a good job today.

“You did well, Seria.”

“Yeah, it was an easy job.”

I felt a bit guilty for being praised since all I did was carry things. Well, if you consider my floating ability part of my strength, it was a decent contribution.

“Since some of them will be moving to Rutur, it’s good to make a favorable impression.”

Each town has various guilds, and the guild branch in the provincial capital oversees them. Although the main office is in the royal capital, it primarily coordinates information and doesn’t have a hierarchical relationship with the branches. Many headquarters staff are also dispatched from these branches.

The branch here operates similarly, gathering craftsmen from various towns. The difference is that they are dispatched for technical guidance.

Rutur will become part of the new territory, but it’s impossible to gather everything from scratch, so our craftsmen will temporarily go there.

Today’s help was with that in mind. Clever…!
