Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! - Chapter 126

Tomorrow, we finally leave the capital.

Old man and Oriana, as well as the other servants at the mansion—we've all gotten quite close over the past year that I've been living here. Thinking about it now, I do feel a bit reluctant to leave.

In my previous life, traveling domestically was easy, but in this world, it's not so simple.

...If it were just me, it might be easy, but I can't travel alone.

"Are you all ready?" Seriana asked as she looked at the now-empty shelves, her voice echoing slightly in the bare room.

We were having our usual meeting in Seriana's room, but this time, Zighardt and Fiora were also present. Since we're leaving in the morning, we're staying at the mansion tonight.

"Yes. We've finished our farewells, including taking Sarah with us."

"We were held up quite a bit!"

Alex and I visited various places we frequented, like the adventurer's guild, farms, and shops, to say our goodbyes. At each place, we were urged to stay longer.

"You were a good liaison for the mansion," Seriana remarked, smiling.

I have to admit, I think I did a good job. We received many favors, and I believe it was worth it.

"Zighardt and Fiora seem ready as well. Elena, please go over tomorrow's schedule."

"Yes."

Elena has taken on the role of secretary quite well. I wonder if she'll continue in that role from now on.

"At 9 AM tomorrow, two armored royal carriages will arrive from the knights. The young lady, Sarah, and I will ride in one, with Alex as the driver. The count and countess will ride in the other. Zighardt and Fiora, please join them. After loading our luggage, we'll depart at 10 AM and meet up with Prince Liesel's carriage and the escorting knights at the entrance to the noble district. We'll take breaks along the way, but we should arrive in Elst's capital by the end of the day. The following day..."

Elena continued her explanation. Since I didn't know the geography well, I had reviewed the map last night. It’s going to be quite a strenuous journey.

The usual travel time between the capital and Zelkis is just under two months.

During this period, when many nobles are traveling for school enrollments and graduations, knights patrol the territories to maintain security. However, since important people like Seriana, the count and countess, and Prince Liesel will be traveling together, we'll move swiftly to avoid taking too much time.

When we came to the capital last year, it took us nearly a month even with our light load packed in the hideout. By dividing our luggage among four carriages, we aim to return in about the same time.

If we traveled non-stop from morning till night, it would take about a week, but to ensure safety, the schedule is set so that we reach our lodging by 2 or 3 PM. This season, it gets dark around 4 PM and completely dark by 5 PM, so it can't be helped.

"Understood?"

"Yes, proceed."

While I was spacing out, Elena's explanation continued until Zighardt interrupted.

"Are we going through Organoa to Yuuct?"

"Yes."

"That area has mountains at the border, right? Isn’t it dangerous to go through there?"

Indeed, the border between Baron Organoa's and Viscount Yuuct's territories is mountainous. Because of some ancient monster's rampage, there are no mountains west of the capital, but they reappear around Organoa.

These areas are teeming with beasts and monsters, not to mention bandit hideouts. Knights patrol the areas, driving the dangers into the mountains, making it perilous regardless of the season.

Although the highway passes through, the usual route is a long detour around the mountains. We took this detour when coming to the capital.

Even with knight escorts, I think it's risky to take the shortcut.

"I’ll spot the enemies, so don't worry. I'll give instructions for you to take them out," Seriana said confidently.

"As future dukes, we can't be afraid of mere monsters and bandits. I'll be using the 'Dragon's Breath' as well."

Fiora seemed to understand the plan.

In frontier development, dealing with monsters is common, adding to one’s prestige.

"We have permission to burn a little. Just a bit."

"How delightful," Fiora laughed, though it was a bit unnerving.

Honestly, it's better if nothing happens at all.
