Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! - Chapter 175

 Autumn in February.

The mountains already have a thin layer of snow, but it's not as noticeable in the lowlands.

"Groooaaannnn..."

However! The upper air is cold! I can't help but let out a groan.

Next month, the autumn rainy season will begin again, and the rain will continue for a while. So, we're working at a slightly faster pace to wrap up the current tasks before then.

While shivering in the sky, I hear the sound of a whistle. It's the signal to get into position.

"Hnngh!"

I channel magic into the tool in my hand, and a laser-like beam of light shoots out straight from it. This is a device called a linear projector, which only emits a beam of light. Because its use is limited to drawing straight lines, it's relatively rare and unexpectedly expensive.

Normally, we would assemble something like a scaffold and shoot the beam from the top of it, but this time we're in a forest that hasn't been cleared yet. So, I maintain altitude and shoot the beam from the sky. In response, they drive stakes, about a meter long, into the ground every 200 meters. These stakes emit a faint light when infused with magic, serving as markers for the construction.

Once that's done, I move directly above the line and wait for the signal. This process repeats over and over.

We plan to extend this line to the next potential base within the forest during this winter. Of course, the forest is dangerous at this time of year, and normally, such an endeavor would be reckless. But with the strongest forces from this town—Alex and Zighardt—providing ground security, along with a five-member party of adventurers from this town (who change every time), we're managing.

Well, it's like a public works project...

Plus, I'm keeping watch from above.

Through Akame's eyes and the [Fairy Eye], I can clearly see the overly powerful Zighardt and the others. Alex is strong too, but he inevitably pales in comparison.

Aside from the fact that I'm cold, there are no problems.

The forest on the other side of Mountain 1 serves as a buffer zone against the monsters descending from the mountain. Since it's too dangerous to be right next to it, we're building about 5 kilometers away from the town.

We're about halfway there now.

Once we reach the destination, we'll hire adventurers to help clear the area all at once. This world remains as powerful as ever.

"Ngh...!"

A loud whistle blast! This is the signal that a monster is approaching.

It seems the whistle was heard, and in an instant, the monster was already gone. Even though we've given them the [Dragon's Lung], it's still an impressive spell. The monster is reduced to charcoal, yet the forest doesn't catch fire at all.

Alex was complaining that he has nothing to do.

But it must be reassuring to have a large, strong man with a shield and a club as a guard. Even though they're somewhat used to rough situations, the adventurers were initially reluctant to work in a monster-infested forest, but now they're accustomed to it.

Even in the brief moment of combat, the work hasn't stopped. The sound of stakes being driven into the ground continues uninterrupted.

It seems the local monsters have learned our scent; they keep their distance and don't come any closer.

We started early in the morning, and it's still before noon. At this pace, we might be able to finish one more section.

"I'm back!"

Everyone else will report to the Adventurers' Guild and the Craftsmen's Guild after this, and although it's early, we'll probably meet up for drinks later. I head back to the mansion alone.

Even though I'm wearing a cape, I'm barefoot because I'm equipped with the [Crimson Bee's Stinger] for safety. It's a tough season to be outside, especially in the sky, dressed like this for long periods.

Maybe it's time to wear shoes...?

"Welcome back. The bath is ready."

"Thanks!"

As usual, I enter the room through the window and am greeted by Seriana's kind words. Inside, three women are gathered, looking over what appears to be documents. Since they seem to be working, I decide to head straight to the bath.

I leave the room and enter the bathroom directly across from it. Normally, I use the one in the [Hideout], but when people are around, I use this one.

This mansion has many baths, including several for guests and one for Lizel. Even before the expansions, there were plenty.

Even when I lived in this town, water was never a problem. This land must be rich in water. That's a good thing!
