Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! - Chapter 159
Today is finally the day we depart for Lutol.
“Sera, you haven't forgotten anything, have you?”
Seliana glanced around the room and said to me. Except for herself, I'm probably the only one who left anything in this room.
“No, nothing!”
I even squeezed the sofa into the hideout, so everything's perfect! But Seliana seems to be leaving almost everything behind. Well, it’s her family home, so it might be different from when we were in the capital...
“Alright, let’s go.”
Seliana walked out briskly.
When we returned from the capital, she was a bit sentimental, but today, as we're leaving, she doesn’t seem to be in that mood. Looking outside, the sky is clear without a single cloud. ...The season for using an umbrella as a parasol has arrived.
“Oh?”
As I reached the stairs and looked down at the entrance hall, not only Elena and Alex but also the servants, Father, Minéa, Flora, and even Luciana were waiting. Quite an enthusiastic send-off.
“Have they already arrived?”
Seliana ignored that and asked if the carriage was ready.
“Yes, including the escorts.”
After hearing that, she headed towards Father and the others. My sister Luciana was hiding behind Flora. Aizen too, it seems, still finds his sister uncomfortable.
As for me... well, I'm actually watching the floating orb. I won't do it.
“Elena, Alexio, Sera.”
Minéa approached us, ending her conversation with Seliana.
“Please take care of my daughter.”
“Leave it to us.”
Both Alex and I bowed our heads and answered on behalf of Elena. Well, it’s understandable to worry about a daughter leaving home. But it’s that daughter who has the highest crisis detection ability...
“We won't see each other until next year. Take care of my daughter.”
Father said something similar. They're quite the couple... We answered the same way as before.
“All three of you, let’s go.”
Seliana, seemingly reluctant to part, was already leaving.
After opening the front door and letting Alex and Elena out, Seliana and I followed suit.
I could see Alex’s horse and the ten escort knights next to the carriage. After the carriage door was opened, I got in first. This time, Alex isn’t the coachman, so I can’t use the hideout.
The servants who work at the mansion aren’t coming with us; they’ll be recruited later from within the territory. Well, once we arrive at the inn, we'll use the hideout, so it should be fine, and we'll arrive in about ten days, right?
◇
It's the fourth day since we departed.
When I traveled this route before, I was in the hideout, so maybe the season difference is why the scenery feels so fresh. It seems adventurers were hired beforehand to clear out monsters along the route, so we've been progressing smoothly without any incidents.
“There!”
Today's destination is the town of Lef, where we're supposed to meet Liesel. Since they left earlier, I wonder if they've already arrived?
“The town is already in sight!”
If we could use the hideout, that would be one thing, but just riding in the carriage feels quite cramped. Along the road, we have permission to use the floating orb. It was still hovering above us, and I could see the town walls about a kilometer ahead.
“Got it. I don't want to alert the guards. Sera, could you get back in the carriage?”
“Alrighty!”
When I escaped, I didn't notice, but considering Lutol is on the front line, the town itself may have its flaws, but the town walls are solidly built. They're comparable to the walls of the capital. In contrast, other town walls seem... rather feeble.
There wasn't such a thing west of the capital, but perhaps the east side hasn’t been tended to. There are plans to cede the area east of Lef for new territory, so it might develop in the future.
“We'll be arriving soon... What?”
After folding my parasol and knocking on the carriage door before entering, Seliana gave me a stern look.
“No, did you enjoy the outside?”
Ah... maybe she’s been cooped up inside for too long and got stressed out?
“Well, um... it was hot outside. I ended up using this parasol like a regular one.”
I answered, indicating the parasol on my back. Now that I think about it, I don’t usually go out, whether it's rainy or hot.
“I don't like the heat... We'll hear Liesel's report and stay in that town tonight, right?”
“Yes. The prince will depart after lunch, but my lady will stay and leave early tomorrow morning.”
“I see. Liesel has it tough too. Sera, please offer a prayer for her later.”
“Sure thing!”
The carriage has air conditioning, but being inside for too long gets tiring. I might as well give her the Blessing of Mira too. It might offer some comfort, at least.
