Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! - Chapter 103

 "Welcome back!"

I raise my head from the sofa at the sound of the door opening and greet.

"Yes, I'm back."

It's the usual exchange.

"So, you went on a tour today, right? Did you enjoy it?"

Seriana, seated across from me, asks about my day.

"Yeah, it was something amazing..."

"Wasn't it bigger than you?"

"It was indeed. Have you seen one before?"

"At the academy, domestic students are given a tour there first. It's where they learn the mindset of Mesalia nobility. You must have felt proud as a Mesalian, too, right?"

"I thought it was impressive, but... When I think about fighting those things in the new territory, it weighs heavily on me."

"There aren't many like that, but since it leaves a mark on the history of the territory, take it as encouragement."

I don't really care much for honor or anything like that...

"Wasn't it a bear demon king species that's used in Zelkis's barrier, if I recall correctly?"

"That's right. Originally, materials from demon king species elsewhere were used, but your grandfather led the troops to a successful subjugation. It's a story from about 30 years ago."

"Grandpa is amazing..."

Elena chimes in after finishing unpacking, but even though she's talking about bears, they're usually larger, like cows or elephants. I thought it was strange how friendly Grandpa seemed with the knights of the capital, but is he really that strong?

"Well, even if things go smoothly, it's still 5 to 6 years away. Make sure to grow up properly,"

It was said casually, but with just that, will everything be okay...?

"Alex knows a lot of things, so you should ask him when he returns,"

"Huh? Did you get in touch with him?"

For about three weeks now, Alex has been coordinating with Luban, Ziguldt, and others to subjugate monsters in the capital and surrounding territories for confirmation. I haven't asked when he'll be back, but did he send a letter or something?

"Next month is my birthday. And there will also be an announcement about the engagement with Liesel, so my parents will come to the capital as well. Have you met my brother?"

"Lord Eisen? I greeted him at first, but that's about it."

Aisen.

He's Seriana's younger brother, one year younger than her.

During our time at Zelkis Manor, the maids advised me to keep my distance from Seriana since I was directly under her, and I followed that advice. It seems he has some mixed feelings because he's been compared to Seriana. I've heard her mutter something like, "He's insignificant," or something along those lines. That's probably how she feels about him.

"Your father and Aisen will use the rooms on the opposite side, so you won't see them, but stay on the east side."

"Okay."

In this mansion, the east side is designated for female use, and the west side is for males. I rarely go there unless I'm called, so it's not an issue.

But more importantly...

"Your birthday's next month?"

"Yes, it's on January 14th in the winter. Since you came to the Mueller family after that, this will be your first time experiencing it."

With all the hustle and bustle since I was picked up, events like birthdays completely slipped my mind.

"Elena's birthday is three days before mine. Yours is in late February, right?"

"Huh? Yeah, probably."

I think it was late February in the fall. I'm not entirely sure since I didn't have a calendar or anything... But more importantly!

"Should I prepare something for both of them, like gifts or something?"

I ask the person herself.

I can't think of anything appropriate for wealthy female employers. The sculpture I bought for the anniversary festival seemed to be well-received, as it's still displayed on her desk, but using the same idea again would be uninspired. What should I do?

"Oh, thank you. But it's not necessary."

"Huh?"

"There's no end to receiving gifts from everyone. So, it's mainly from nobles and maybe from the businesses we associate with. Just the thought is enough. Right?"

Elena nods in agreement.

Is that how it works? Well, if it became a competition, it would be troublesome.

"I have something in mind for yours, so look forward to it."

"...Thanks."

Is that okay?
