Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! - Chapter 148

Alex carried the luggage into Seriana's room from Lutol.

It was piled high.

They must be nervous about the previously ignored lord’s daughter coming as the new lady of their central domain.

I wondered what the point was in sending all these gifts when we were leaving in a few months, but it seemed they were planning to distribute them among the servants.

"You’ve done well."

While the servants were unpacking, Seriana thanked Alex.

"It was nothing. Both the local and new adventurers are highly motivated, and His Highness has been leading them well. The townsfolk won’t resist."

Alex spoke casually about Lutol, shrugging his shoulders. Despite growing up there, he didn’t seem to know much about the town, which was surprising since it never struck me as a place loyal to the king or lord.

Before I meddled, my name was Elisha. There were others, like Liesel. Back then, I didn’t think much about it, but in hindsight, these weren’t names you’d give to orphans. They were royal names.

Hearing this, I realized they might have felt disconnected, like it was someone else’s problem. It’s not a good sign, but it shows how little interaction they had with the kingdom or the lord. That’s probably why the church had power there. The townspeople must have been shocked when Liesel suddenly arrived.

Elena joined the conversation with Alex and Seriana, but it didn’t seem to concern me. I was more interested in that pile. Should I help?

"Oh, right."

Alex remembered something, walked over to the unpacking area, and picked up a bag about the size of a Boston bag. He brought it over to me.

"This is for you."

I took it, curious. It wasn’t very heavy for its size.

"What’s this?"

I opened it to find a brown fur that looked like a one-person-sized blanket.

"Jig and Fiora had this made for you. It’s made from a celestial wolf."

A gift for me.

"Celestial wolf... I’ve heard of that before..."

"Wow, that’s amazing."

Seriana seemed a bit surprised. It must be something special.

"Oh!"

As I spread it out and touched it, I realized what it was.

"This is the insanely expensive one Oriana used in the capital!"

I had once rested on her bed, which had this luxurious fur that kept you warm in winter and cool in summer.

"I don’t know if the grand lady uses it, but it’s that expensive one. There’s a larger blue box with a bigger one for the lady."

There was one for Seriana too. Makes sense. It would be too extravagant if it were just for me.

Monsters and beasts affected by the Demon King’s disaster become more powerful. Some, influenced by multiple Demon Kings, grow larger or change in nature. The celestial wolf is one such beast, extremely powerful.

These creatures only exist in hellish environments, making them very rare and expensive. Plus, a single one isn’t enough for bedding; several are needed, and they’re hard to kill cleanly. Hence, acquiring them is unstable.

Even with power and money, you still have to wait. Owning one makes you the talk of any party.

I heard that you can get one for an exorbitant amount of gold, but doing so would label you as someone who doesn’t understand value, making you a laughingstock among merchants.

It’s a common pitfall for the newly wealthy, and it often spreads, leading to ridicule from nobles and commoners alike. What a trap.

"Wow..."

As I wrapped myself in it, I started feeling sleepy...
