Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! - Chapter 146
I float through the deepest part of the upper dungeon.
After the meeting the other day, I was given a personal request.
Until the details of the incident were widely known, I was asked to rescue adventurers in danger in the shallows and upper levels if I could detect them. Since I can move quickly, avoiding monsters and obstacles, and can easily defeat upper-level monsters, this role was perfect for me.
I saw the aftermath of the incident and agreed to help out for just an hour each morning. For a few days, I drifted through the dungeon.
I figured no one would be in danger in the shallows, so I moved mostly through the upper levels. Every adventurer I met seemed to already know about the incident and asked me for details. Everyone was gathering information, highlighting the complacency of the half-destroyed party. They would have been wiped out anyway, wouldn't they?
In the end, no one was in danger, and the guild decided my help was no longer needed.
So today, I'm challenging the Ogre again. I wasn't just floating around like a jellyfish these past few days—I was planning my strategy. From today on, the Ogres on this floor are my prey!
◇
I stepped into the middle level, passed through the corridor, and approached the stone-throwers at the entrance of the hall, swiftly defeating them. This has become routine for me; there's no other way.
The real challenge starts here.
Previously, my approach was to rise, separate the stone-throwers from the group, and defeat them individually, or target the group from the edges. The safer option is the latter, but this time I chose to take down the stone-throwers first.
This would prompt the Ogres to form a battle line, which is exactly what I wanted. I grabbed the umbrella strapped to my back and looked down.
The boss was in the center, flanked by three chiefs and five regular Ogres on each side, forming a dragon-wing formation.
"Heh heh heh..."
I learned something from previous battles. Ogres can sense smell, sound, and magic, but they rely most on their sight. So, I'll take that away from them.
I accelerated towards the outermost Ogre while descending. The Ogres moved to surround me. Last time, I couldn't think of a way to break this situation and retreated, but today is different!
Before they could completely encircle me, I beheaded one on the edge and rose to a height where they couldn't reach me, confirming the formation.
Even the boss focused on me.
"Ha!"
I activated "Dragon's Lung." It doesn't boost my magic's power, but it reduces the charging time. I deactivated Akame's Eye and Fairy's Sight, opened the umbrella, and was ready.
"Flash!"
A brilliant light burst from the tip of the umbrella, and the Ogres cried out in agony.
My umbrella, made of pure magical steel and wood, increases the power of spells. While not as intense as Zhiguhalt's flash, it was enough to blind the Ogres. The thick fabric shielded me from the light.
I closed the umbrella and looked down at the Ogres, clutching their faces in pain. Perfect!
"Hah! Hah!"
In one breath, I killed two and escaped upwards. I hesitated to target the boss because this strategy needed some discipline. I'll whittle them down a bit more.
"Whoa..."
After taking down two more, they regained their sight and attacked, but I was already above them. And then...
"Flash!"
Another blinding light! Repeating this three times, I killed three, then two, then three more, leaving only the boss.
The boss was larger than the others, comparable to an Orc. Despite its size, it was agile, smart, and strategic. It tried throwing rocks at me, but alone, it wasn't a threat.
"Flash!"
Though the boss could sense magic, my fast, spell-focused gear gave me the upper hand. The fifth flash blinded it, and I moved behind it, destabilizing it with a kick from my "Crimson Bee's Stinger" and finishing it off with "Shadow Sword."
"Ha ha ha ha!"
I was alone in the hall. I didn't have the luxury to target the core, so I only beheaded it, leaving a corpse. Still, it was a scene of victory!
