Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! - Chapter 109

"Let's go."

"Okay."

Seryana exited the room, carrying luggage, followed by Elena. And then I followed the two briskly walking figures with a slightly hurried pace.

It's been the familiar morning scene at the mansion in the capital for the past week.

"You're not late today."

"Hmph!"

I replied confidently to Seryana's teasing remark. I hadn't noticed before, but the stairs in this mansion are quite high per step. Rushing down them would almost make me stumble and fall. So, I've been descending while holding onto the railing. But it seems I've finally got the hang of it, as I successfully rushed down them this morning.

Well, whether it's something to be proud of is questionable, but let's consider it a small step of progress.

"Good morning, Lady Seryana."

Exiting through the front door, the palace guards were already stationed, and a carriage was visible at the gate. Today, it was someone other than Viira-san. It was Eira Sallion-san. She's said to be Viira-san's junior, so she's probably around thirty. She's a woman with blonde hair tied in a ponytail and sharp eyes.

"Yes, good morning."

Passing by the two who were exchanging greetings, I boarded the carriage first. After ensuring the safety of the interior, Seryana boarded, while Elena and the palace guards protected our backs. Usually, the coachman would check inside, but since I'm here, the order is different now. The same goes for when we disembark.

It's quite thorough, but in the event of an attack, it would be a disgrace for both Seryana and the royal family, so they can't afford to let their guard down.

However, tightening security too much might be seen as cowardly, so it seems to be a delicate balance.

That's why, since I'm currently on a break from dungeon exploration, it's better for me to accompany them to the academy.

It's a bit... well, it seems Alex is afraid to ask questions himself, so he kept coming to me for help.

While there's no special qualification required to participate in the development, having connections to a lord definitely adds prestige.

It's a great opportunity for adventurers to become a local figurehead and even potentially gain exclusive contracts.

I heard that the "Fangs of Ragiola" are in that position, so it's understandable that there's eagerness.

I can understand the sentiment, but even if Alex asks me, I can't help, so I plan to stick with this side for a while.

The Noble Academy is unlike common learning institutions; it's not a place for typical studies. Students here have already been taught such things by private tutors. What they learn here mainly revolves around noble etiquette, manners of other countries, and common sense.

The academy operates from January in spring to January in winter. It's currently February in autumn, so there's about two months left. We're nearing the end.

During this period, they learn about engagement ceremonies and marriage etiquette from various countries. It's crucial for nobles, as it pertains to family succession, diplomacy, and more, so they dedicate considerable time to studying it.

And among these important topics, one engagement has already been celebrated - our young lady's.

While etiquette may vary in subtle ways from one country to another, it's generally modeled after the royal family of that nation. Seryana isn't marrying into royalty, but she's engaged to a member of royalty. Thus, she's been taught the proper manners according to Mesarrian tradition.

Usually, it's the royal family or those closely associated who conduct such teachings. However, Riesel is in a different class, and Seryana takes care of this class.

She adds a touch of "Ohoho" here and there.

"You know... it feels... rather mundane, doesn't it?"

"Our young lady doesn't mind attracting attention, you see."

With a wry smile, Elena responded to the words that slipped out unintentionally.

Behind us, the seats for us attendants in the same room were filled, everyone listening intently to Seryana's lecture.

Only children of barons and above can attend this academy. While they may not be able to claim the title of graduates, they can acquire an equivalent level of knowledge. It's like being auditors, in a way.

Even though we're attendants, it doesn't mean we'll serve for life. With the knowledge gained here, we could even become private tutors ourselves. There's likely demand among wealthy commoners like guildmasters.

I wonder if Seryana's enthusiastic lectures will be conveyed as well... Well, as long as she's having fun, it's all good.
