Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! - Chapter 92
Just like on the way there, we reached the outside without any combat in the shallows.
In fact, other adventurers were taking the lead in defeating monsters.
Or rather, exterminating them.
Is this the influence of "Flash"?
Once outside, there was a crowd of people eagerly waiting for him, forming a throng around him.
Among them is Alex, but what should I do...?
"Sera!?"
Alex, who spotted me, pushes through the crowd and runs over.
"Are you acquainted with him?"
"Yes. He's Alexio-san, the 'Red Oni', employed by the same Mueller family as me."
"Oh, that guy..."
"I see you are Sir Jighalt, known as 'Flash'. I am Alexio. It's an honor to meet you. My sister Sera has been in your care."
He looks surprised at my tone of speech, or rather, my manner of speaking, but he's quite perceptive.
He's catching on nicely.
"Don't worry about it. I'm the one who got caught up in the aftermath of the magic. Well, sorry, but I don't have much time to chat."
Jighalt says this, pointing his thumb towards the reception area.
There, I see some important figures from the guild and a merchant-like man, though I don't know their names, all looking our way.
"Looks like you're busy, let's go. Mr. Jighalt. Thank you for sharing all that with us."
"Yeah. If there's a chance, 'Red Oni,' tell me more about the Majin."
With just that, he walked towards the reception area without looking back.
"Alex, let's go. Today won't be a hunting day."
"Huh? Oh... yeah..."
Let's just get out of here for now.

"Ahh... Whew, that was close."
After leaving the Adventurer's Guild and walking a little way, I stretched out widely and ended up spinning around once.
Usually, I'd stop before going that far, but I must be tired.
"Was that handling okay?"
Is he referring to the situation?
"Perfect."
"I see. So, why did things turn out like that again? You mentioned something about the aftermath of the magic, but we didn't fight, did we?"
"Ah, I got dazzled by some light."
Although I couldn't see, surprisingly, he taught me a lot about magic.
But how should I explain it?
"Flash, huh... I see. So, what was up with that weird way of speaking? That's not like you."
I think I made quite the unusual imitation of myself, but oh well.
"You idiot! Meeting such a ferocious beast without any preparation. Unbelievable!"
As I kick Alex while reflecting on it, at least I shouldn't have been wrong about that response. Besides, there was something bothering me a bit. I'll check on that when I get back.
"...Was it that bad?"
"It was... Thanks to this thing, I understood more than I needed to."
I gesture to the "Fairy Eye" attached to my left ear, and he seems to understand.
"Well, I got to say my greetings, so it's all good. Want to stop by somewhere?"
"...Let's stop by."
Let's eat something sweet to calm our nerves.
I'll treat you.
◇
It's the usual nightly debriefing.
I'm usually the one who listens, but today I spoke up firmly.
About Jighaltd.
"I've heard of 'Flash' Jighaltd... But he doesn't bend to nobles, does he?"
"That seems to be the case."
"If he turns me down, it'll tarnish my reputation."
Apparently, it's quite rude for a commoner to refuse an invitation from a noble.
But even so, if he refuses, it means the invitation isn't worth accepting.
And it's just a commoner's refusal.
That's how it's perceived by those around.
So, commoners have to be careful about how they interact with nobles.
Adventurers are no different.
They distance themselves from nobles or, like Alex, are directly employed by them. Or they become nobles themselves, like Ruban. They do various things.
But Jighaltd refuses, regardless of the region, nobility, or title. No matter how good the offer, he turns it down.
The only exceptions are situations involving monsters like the Demon King Disaster. In those cases, he's an untouchable figure even for nobles.
But I feel like I can make it work.
