Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! - Chapter 32
"Isn't that amazing?"
Those were Seriana's words as she looked at the four Holy Coins I had placed in front of her.
"In that case, I’ll take two."
She took two and offered the remaining coins back to me.
She's misunderstood, as expected.
Well, I guess I can’t blame her.
"No, no, that’s not it."
"Is that the total for the three of us?"
Wrong again!
"Today, Sera acquired 10 Holy Coins, my lady..."
"⁉"
Elena went ahead and spilled the beans, but yes, that's what happened.
Those four coins are the portion meant for Seriana.
After the first fight with the Giant Bat, I continued obtaining coins steadily—now totaling ten.
What on earth is going on?
Maybe I’ve got some kind of talent?
"……"
While I trembled at the possibility of a talent I wasn’t even aware of, Seriana silently stared at the coins on the desk with a serious expression.
Huh? Is this something worth worrying over that much?
When I glanced at the other two, they had similar expressions.
"Very well. Sera, I’m going into the 【Hideout】. Open it for me."
Is she going to talk about something important…?
◇
The Great Forest Alliance.
About 500 years ago, settlement began on the Central Continent, and the Kingdom of Ligria—the predecessor of the Ligres Empire—was the first nation to be founded.
From there, several nations arose in the western part of the continent. However, seeking greater freedom, some threw themselves into the unexplored lands of the Great Forest, also known as the demon territory.
Many pioneer villages were formed, going through cycles of unity and separation, and eventually formed a nation.
That was the beginning of the eastern territories and the founding of the Alliance’s leading country, the Kingdom of Luzel.
About a hundred years after that, selected talented vassals were sent to further develop the land with independence in mind.
Eventually, three more kingdoms rose from the north: the Kingdom of Shubel, the Kingdom of Barka, and the Mesaria Kingdom. These four countries formed the Great Forest Alliance to support one another.
"That's what was written in the book."
As soon as the four of us entered the 【Hideout】, I was asked about the Great Forest Alliance, so I just repeated what I’d read in a book.
"Oh? You know your stuff. But that’s just the public version. Elena, Alec. Do you two still intend to serve me in the future?"
"Of course."
Elena replied immediately, and Alec nodded as well.
"Good. Sera, I’m not giving you the option to refuse."
"Ah… okay."
I have no idea what this is about, but apparently I don’t have veto power.
"During school, I’ll become engaged to the Fourth Prince, and we’ll make the announcement upon graduation. We’ll marry within a year or two. That’s already been decided. And most likely, the territory that includes the developing town of Lortle will become our domain."
"…Independence?"
Isn’t that kind of a big deal?
She mentioned before that her grandfather pioneered that area… Is this really okay?
"Zelkis has grown too large. The distant regions that can no longer be watched over are being handed over—with the country’s support—to the children of the nobility. Both my father and grandfather are in favor of it."
When she puts it that way, I guess it does sound like a good deal.
From what I’ve heard, the Great Forest is like a natural dungeon filled with powerful monsters, which is why it’s called the demon territory.
Still, unlike regular dungeons, even if a lot of people die there, there’s no penalty, and no permission or cost is needed to go exploring, so people gather.
The development villages become the base camps.
If I’d stayed in the orphanage, I might’ve been sent there too.
Until now, the initiatives were led by merchants or towns, but going forward, the state and nobility will take charge.
"This matter is only known to the royal family and a handful of nobles. Even within the Müller household, only my father, mother, and grandfather know."
I see… But does it really need to be kept this secret?
If it’s the Fourth Prince, there should be three older brothers, so it’s not like she’s going to be Queen, right? I feel like we’re being overly cautious, especially going into the 【Hideout】 just to talk.
Thinking that, I looked at the other two—they both seemed to understand and accept it.
Huh…?
Is there something they know that I don’t?
