Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! - Chapter 19
Early in the morning, I arrived at the Adventurers' Guild with Elena.
Yesterday was my first exploration.
I didn't get injured, and since I was just floating the whole time, I thought I had plenty of energy left. But I must have been more exhausted than I realized because after lunch, what was meant to be a short nap turned into a deep sleep until morning.
Thanks to that, I feel unnecessarily energetic!
"You there, young maid! You're with Elena today?"
The burly receptionist called out to me, likely remembering me from yesterday.
Well, I do stand out a bit, so it can't be helped.
It seems he also knows about Elena being attached to the lord’s daughter.
"Yes, I'm with her today. Just like yesterday, we'll be exploring the shallows."
Elena replied while filling out the exploration report.
She wrote down the number of members, their names, our affiliation, and the designated area for exploration.
It felt a bit like a mountain climbing registration form. As I peeked over, she seemed to have finished writing.
"Alright. You should be fine, but don’t go getting yourselves killed."
The receptionist accepted the form, saying the same thing as yesterday. The other rough-looking men nearby also offered similar remarks.
I casually waved my hand and answered with a relaxed, "Yeah, yeah," before heading toward the dungeon entrance.
Just like yesterday, the atmosphere was surprisingly friendly.
Adventurers are generally required to be at least 14 years old.
Some younger ones can participate as apprentices, but it's rarely permitted, so there aren’t many.
Given that I obviously look younger than that, I expected people to be more dismissive of me, but surprisingly, they weren’t.
Apparently, by royal decree, noble children within the territory must gain combat experience against monsters at least once or twice in the dungeon’s shallows before attending school.
This is to ensure that, in times of crisis, they can take up arms and protect the commoners.
There are knights, soldiers, and adventurers, of course, but nobles are still expected to have some level of combat ability.
Since noble status clearly defines the hierarchy, even children are trained to obey the orders of their superiors.
This dungeon experience requirement is part of that system, implemented by royal command.
Thus, noble children are instructed to follow their designated supervisors' orders when entering the dungeon, and they generally comply.
On the other hand, for commoner children, the adventurer profession itself is not considered a respectable one. It tends to attract reckless kids who dream of adventure, often leading them to ignore guidance and cause trouble.
As a result, commoners rarely receive permission to participate.
It seems that some people know about me being taken in by Seriana, so they’ve categorized me as part of the nobility.
At first, I was told it "wouldn't be a bad deal" for me, but honestly, I feel like I'm getting special treatment.
I’m grateful for it.
◇
"Alright, shall we go? Bring out the 【Floating Orb】."
After entering the dungeon, I followed Elena’s instructions and summoned the 【Floating Orb】, then boarded it.
I’ve been advised to refrain from using the 【Floating Orb】 outside.
People generally know that the gacha requires ten Holy Coins.
From the lord's perspective, it would be troublesome if commoners hoarded too many Holy Coins and prevented them from circulating.
For commoners, trying to save up ten coins, only to use them on the gacha and end up with a dud, would be a huge loss. And if they were to get robbed, it wouldn’t be a joke.
So, Holy Coins are typically exchanged for currency right away.
However, details about Blessings and Blessed Items are rarely disclosed to commoners.
Of course, the ownership restrictions aren't well-known either.
Because of this, while nobles don’t have to worry about it, there have been rare cases of attacks targeting people carrying Blessed Items.
In such cases, it's permissible to kill the attacker in self-defense, but in my case, my combat ability is still uncertain.
That’s why I’m being extra cautious.
It's not like I have any urgent need to go outside, but walking everywhere is exhausting.
I might have to travel outside at some point in the future.
If I can show some strength here, I might get permission to use it outside.
I’ve got to do my best!
